and the transmission tunnel was so hot that the cheap ass cheby carpeting was melting the glue and it was pulling away. It looked like crap. Still - it was so friggin fast. I would have loved to take a few laps.
I own two chevy's, a silverado and a "che'vete" My silverado is a 2002 with 170k miles on it.
The "che'vette is a '06 with 70k miles on it.
The carpet in the truck is alot pluser and it's loops are about 3 times as many loops per square inch as the "che'vette"
Truck weights in at 5,200 #'s, the che'vette weighs in at 3,160 #'s
I've had the carpet out in both vehicles. The truck for cleaning up a scalloped patatoes cooked with cream, goat cheese, & white wine spilt in it.
The che'vette for preping it for a track day.
The trucks carpet has sounddening material with it and the carpet weights 4x per square inch over the che'vette.
My truck is SOLID! and has no extra noise ( well at under 70mph the weather strips on the rear side doors and windows are old and dry)
The che'vette needs to have it's clutch/brake pedal lubed. When there's zero load on them they squeak over bumps.
I do not own a porsche. I was planning on buying a long hood or other 911 but my wife needs a wheelchair every now and then.
We can fit a wheelchair in the che'vette PLUS luggage for two for a three day weekend. (that and get 27mpg at 75ish and top out at 186 mph all for $48k, I got mine for 41k due to a gm discount from my BIL )
