Well...
When I assembled it, I never touched that metal part (A), I just noticed a metal tube sticking out of the block.
Soooooo, I put my spring in A, put my rubber plug on the other end, then put the oil cooler assembly on. My friend held it, compressing the spring, and I torqued it down.
Now that I know more about it, I was thinking of taking it back off to redo it.
