Had a pair of 916's for a long time. Some advice...
If it doesn't already have raised bars, find a set made by Heli, or the equivalent. Stick to roads where you can keep the speeds up. Above 70 or 80, the wind pressure on your upper body will help a lot. Stay away from city stop-and-go. If you ride this on the roads it was intended for, your comfort will increase considerably. Find a fast, flowing two lane out in the sticks. You'll find an rpm range with these things, that they like. On a 916, it was north of 5k. On a 748, it might be a little different.
