Not surprising, on some engines multiple electrodes can actually shield the spark causing poor performance. I have seen this type of plug by another manufacturer (Can't think of the name) in a magazine comparison test and they performed worse on "angle plug" type engines but about the same on engines with a straighter plug bore.
