I used to read a lot. Not so much anymore.
In middle school I read all six Dune books. In high school I read The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings books, the Simrillian, and the Book of Unfinished Tales. I also read a lot of Stephen King, including "The Stand". I got a personal meeting with the dean after asking if the school library had "The Prince". I never didn't have a book with me.
In college I read A LOT of books for classes, lots of Thomas Sowell, and Atlas Shrugged.
I've read a few books since college, like A Clockwork Orange. I started re-reading the Dune books and the Lord of the Rings, but I don't have the patience I once had. I get hundreds of e-mail a day at work and routinely dig through volumes of technical documentation. I've gotten used to searching for relevant information and discarding everything else. When an author takes chapters (or in some cases, books) getting to the point, I get bored.
