I could see a transplant in a earlier, lighter car with a much smaller engine. For your car, which is heavy in comparison, but has more power, the gain would be minimized. Some engine mods(P&C's, cams, MAF, etc) done the right way would give you
almost as much power for much less. (See 3.2 upgrade posts).
