Hey all,

I'm looking at buying a 2007 Fahrenheit Edition GTI but wanted to know anything in particular to look out for.

I have my eye on an 07 GTI Fahrenheit Edition with 31k miles, 1 owner, the dealer wants $17,981 for it. From the research I've done, this seems to be the asking price. However, this is not the out-the-door price, and doesn't include taxes, tags, etc.

I'm not sure that the asking price is the out-the-door price, also, I was hoping for a bit of wiggle room. This will be my first car I've ever had to buy myself, and I know you're never supposed to pay the dealer's quoted price, but I've never had to haggle/negotiate before really...

Is there anything I should ask about to avoid any surprises down the road? I've read reviews of this car and lots of people have said they've had reliability issues with their VWs. I was of the opinion that VWs are very reliable cars that hold their value well, particularly the Golfs and GTIs.

What is the general consensus from those of you who own a Fahrenheit (or a 07 GTI in general)? Good, bad, ugly?
