One thing I have always wondered about Serra's work is just exactly how he bends the steel. That stuff is quite thick and it is not bent easily. Nor is it always bent in the same plane. Just handling it has to be a challenge. I also wonder how it gets transporrted and installed.
For what it's worth, I do study books about my favorite artists, so I usually know more than I would otherwise. I still say I get the most out of art by studying the individual pieces. I'm not the kind of guy that moves through a museum at half trot.
