Exactly wrong.......IMHOOC. With all respect to "Simple economics and manufacturing engineering." There have just been too many times where when given the chance........a small company took on a big one, every time it got a chance and slowly gained a following while the bigger company languished on its proven models. Even though, according to simple books, OE is OE, and thats engineeringly it. Kinda like "Organic It" is for apple eaters.
EVEN IF THEY KNOW the WP units are from a small company that must produce in higher cost manufacturing areas...........while their other choice, SHOWA, a bigger company has places to work that cost less..........most all riders out there would pick the WP for their R11S based on the general rider knowledge out there. If a choice is give for the two OE shocks sitting side by side, and the rider make their own decision......the WP will be picked over the SHOWA even though as Roger pointed out, the Showa may be slightly better because they make more, becoming more efficient like. When did BMW drop WP because they became too expensive? That is what I would like to know and if just European units came with WP while the in USA had to get the Showas. Curious
