Hey bro i used to pack a 1911 Springfield Armory Champion (commander length) with 185gr Remington +P's myself. (over 600fpe of energy and a nice rounded profile designed to feed in weapons made for FMJ- which most 1911's are)
Your choice is
-not- a bad choice by any means, but with today's ammo
any of the .35-40 caliber rounds (9-10mm) offer essentially identical -and excellent- performance with bullets in the same weight range.
