That is the exact type of issues that I'm afraid of. Fortunately her teacher is cool and he is more concerned with the students experimenting and being interested in learning than producing the most accurate results. I figure that we will conduct a couple different experiments using the ideas that everyone has given me in this thread and compare the results.
