Extended Warranties from the Dealer?
My wifes 2006 Volvo XC90 V8's factory 4 year, 50,000 mile warranty expires on the 20th of this month. I took it in for a regular service tonight, and talked to Volvo about extending the warranty. It looks like the best "deal" if it can be called that, is the one that extends the warranty for 3 more years, or 75K miles total. After going back and forth a bit, I got it "down" to $2,900. Ouch.
Other than a faulty rear wheel bearing, I haven't had a single problem with the car, but after reading Tim's Audi thread, and some of the others, I am very hesitant to not have a psuedo luxury car without a warranty, and we don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon (it has 42K miles on it, and my wife drives less now than the first year we got it).
What is the Pelican brain trust think? I am not even considering any type of aftermarket warranty. I've had great luck with this dealership.
Thanks Bill
