Extended warranties are a terrific deal for the dealer because it is one more product that they can make money on. They also make money on cars, yet you buy them. So as long as the dealer is making a fair profit, and not gouging, the warranty itself can be valueable. There are several levels of coverage so make sure you understand the differences. I'd buy the most comprehensive so you don't end up like Oracle, blaming the company for his lack of understanding. GM does offer bumper-to-bumper coverages.
