I'm amazed. As pointed out in the article, that number has increased rapidly over the recent past. I'm still surprised in a way, but I guess I can understand it because if I were to spend $1200-$1400 on a new laptop, I almost definitely get one of the new MacBook Pros. But I will likely end up spending $800 on a dell, as it will be more than enough for the excel, word, firefox, itunes, and vlc that get run on it.
