crap joe i got a 1977 canucker(canam) 175 qualifier thats right after the mx-1 when its finished. just got new buchannan spokes/nipples/sun rims for the mx-1 and qualifier to lace up this week and slap brand new metzlers on them with HD tubes and zoomy uber lightweight high techno motion pro rim locks. (2) on rears and (1) rimlock on front rims.
lacing rims is always fun and entertaining.
if ya notice on the jackpiner the chromed reddle rims................try finding those puppies???????????????????????????/ what a PITA finding them let alone expense of having them chromed. i would have WAYYYYY ahead if i had just ordered some SUn alloy rimms from buchannan. but wez trying to keep as original as possible on the jackpiner except updating the spark arrestor to something better than a old "sparky" model thats on it.
any of these older bikes run damn good with a mikuni carb slapped on it. if ya ante up for a flatslide mikuni its a real nice touch instead of POS amal carbs and not very much better BING carbs. but man the "PURISTS" have a MOO COW if anything changed from what the factory issued.
the jackpiner is gonna get broken in/jetted and some more foo foo parts added and then its gonna get some stabil or the tank and bowl drained and its just gonna sit for awhile until we can get a bunch of us old outlaw racist(?) dirty bikers up for a fun filled dirty bike ride up to crown king for some beers and burgers.
ya know what??? its amazing how many beers ya can drink in an evening werking on these and never leave your property and not bother a soul.................UNTIL YA FIRE THEM UP! hahahahahahahahaha!
