I hope to retire by 50 or 55 at the latest, only continuing to work on specific individual projects for extra "fun money" and to keep from getting bored after that. I doubt I'll ever fully "retire" as in, sit in a rocking chair all day and watch the idiot box. I can't stand sitting still. It's not in my nature - I always have to be engaged and doing SOMETHING, so I consider "retirement" as, "I have enough money to not have to work hand-to-mouth, I can survive comfortably even if I consider to pursue activities that don't necessarily yield a return on investment".

But sit around in Boca Raton with a bunch of other old people doing nothing of challenge or interest or excitement? F that. I'll enjoy life until the day the Reaper pries it from my body forcibly.
