All I know is that you would be happier in the long run with a beefy old used Bridgeport if you actually plan to do much milling. The drill/mill units I have seen are not as solid as a real mill and will likely require very light machining passes to avoid having chatter. That said, a combo drill/mill unit would be better than not having any milling capability.
