Do-It-Yourself IMS upgrade
I hope it's OK to post a link to a Rennlist forum here. Although this comes from the 996 forum, much of it must apply to Boxsters also--correct me if I'm wrong.
I read this thread from beginning to end last night and found it fascinating. The thread's author, Kyle aka "Shark Attack" on Rennlist, replaced his IMS in his garage using basic tools, a lot of persistence, ingenuity and some help from Jake Raby. He ALSO replaced his RMS with a $7 home-made alignment tool that he made. Put in a new clutch while he was in there too!

I don't think *I* could do this, but it's nice to know that it can be done.
I'm sure Wayne's book will have a detailed method for doing this on Boxsters.
