Getting a doctor for a second opinion (complicated)
My business partner's son is in the hospital. He's been in for over a week with a case of RSV. They have had him on a ventilator (i think that's the correct term). He has no fever left and seems to be recovering. They keep pushing out his release date from the hospital. Obviously, my friend and his wife are frazzled. They keep thinking they're going home and they keep having the rug pulled out from under them.
Since the boy is in the hospital, how does one go about getting a second opinion on his care at this point? Does the doctor need to have privileges at the hospital? Is it possible to even do this?
Any help is appreciated.
