Bro there have been battlefield incidents of even small oriental men hopped up on drugs ignoring the repeated hits of .50cal BMG fire.

I once read a report of a VC that was shot with a 40mm grenade that didn't explode. The VC continued to fight until being struck several times by 5.56mm and 7.62mm bullets.

Never, ever underestimate the ability of people (or anything else) to utterly ignore gunfire.
