Thank everyone for your help. As I said in my Question ,and having very good spec references, the stroke measurement is stock. Probably a more understandable question would have been if anyone has a set of stock 1.7 cylinders to measure the lower cylinder dimension or a standard engine case for this same dimension. I have 1.7 heads already but many miles away and nobody there to measure opening for cylinder . These are my heads stored for many years. With these heads and hopefully being able to find a used set of cylinders and pistons the engine can be saved. Back to the original missing link,I don't want to start the search for stock 1.7 cylinders to find the cases have been machined. Hopefully someone has stock parts and a caliper because unfortunately these are not listed in spec books that I have. Thanks for the support. Sophie
