I went down to the dealer yesterday afternoon, after I got there they tried to change the story. "We crunched the numbers every way we could and we just can't make this work, can you go another $1500?" Nope, bye bye.
"Wait wait wait, let me go talk to him again".
I told him I quit school just because the had recess, no more games.
They settled on what they said over the phone but tried to back out when I reminded them it needed a bed liner. "Oh no way, we can't give you a bed liner, we're already losing money on this truck". Yeah right.
Ended up getting the bed liner for around $200. I reminded them it needed a full tank of gas, they said OK but forgot to fill it up. I had to turn around and go back. Got a free future oil change out if it too.
XLT supercab. Sticker price was $35,388 after all the options and destination charges, etc.
It has the 5.4 liter, tow package, fancy stereo stuff, limited slip, power everything, all kinds of crap. It was the best looking truck on the lot IMO.
Edmunds says what others are paying for a comparable truck is $33,291 before incentives, $28,041 after.
I paid what worked out to be $24.3k and change. There was allot of factory incentives but they also came down on the price big time. I didn't steal the truck but I got a price I'm comfortable with and I don't regret or feel like I was taken. I would have liked to get it cheaper but this was close enough.
It's sitting in front of the house right now with the tundra jealously parked behind it.
My daughter reminded me that I now have three cars and she doesn't have one.
Uh oh, now I have to get her something soon. The tundra is a little too big for someone still learning to drive but maybe I'll start getting her used to it
She changed her mind about the Mazda 3 and now she says she wants a sentra. I'm not a big Nissan fan but there are a gazillion sentras out there, how bad could they be?
The wife asked me last night if she could drive the new truck to San Diego today, my daughter is playing in a volleyball tournament down there.
I said no way, I don't want to put that kind of miles on it
Can you believe it, me, a Ford owner? I woulda never thunk......
