I'm noodling on picking up a Silverado crew cab or possibly a Tahoe with decent interior and exterior but perhaps high miles (over 100k). I am not against going through the engine if it makes some economic sense at the time and would do the work myself.

Have you owned a 5.3 in one of these vehicles? Issues, comments, likes/dislikes? Probably looking at like a 2005-2007 model year.
