It will be months before it grows out. When it does, if you have problems, go back to soaking it to keep potential infection at bay. Pan of salty water works because fluid in pan is saltier than what your heart is pumping, osmotic pressure draws fluid out of you, into pan, flushing out wound. I can hook you up with someone local to take care of it for you, probably easier to do near where you work, rather than where you live, to make sceduling easier.
For now, continue with soaks one to a few times daily until it stops draining, bandaid as needed to keep it from rubbing on the shoe.
