Those "experts" as you call them are drawing on an extraordinarily high resolution knowledge of the sun, being examined more than almost anything else in the world, as well as thousands of years of actual direct observation (not the secondary stuff like the climate scientists are using). Fair question. I'd have left off the parentheses had I known specifically who the "experts" were. Some of the info I was referring to I heard on TV shows. Other info I read on conspiracy theory websites. So yeah, those "experts" get the parentheses....because really, who are they? I wasn't referring to the (non-parenthetical) experts at NASA or any other specific group.
