Doesn't the dynamic ability of the 911 as a true rear-engine car depend to a large extent on the low center-of-gravity of the flat-6 engine configuration? This Ruf V-8 is a very cool concept (Porsche has been rumored to have been looking at a V-8 911), but the weight of the motor should be much higher up in the tail than the H-6, even if it's lighter overall than the current 3.8. It won't matter much in straight line acceleration, but isn't there is going to have to be a lot of PASM/Torque-vectoring/etc. intervention to keep this thing from wagging its tail in abrupt transitions? This motor makes more sense to me in a 987 than a 997. I'd love to drive the RGT-8 back-to-back with a new 997 Turbo S and find out...
