Change the timing and counter balance belts NOW.
Not tomorrow or the day after -- NOW!!!!
If you have a simple 8 valve engine you can do it yourself about $70.
If you have a reputable mechanic he can do it for about $300.
If you have a sixteen valve engine it's a bit higher in parts but so is the cost of repair!!!
Either way DO IT NOW!!!!!
