Baboons are monkeys - big 'uns.
Gorillas, chimps(2 species), orangutans and... humans are in the so-called "great apes" and are not monkeys.
Both the great apes and monkeys are in a larger group - the Order Primates (together with some smaller brained things...).
So, technically, calling this chimp a monkey is
worse than calling it a gorilla.
If you are lucky, this chimp does not read much on the Internet and will not see the spurious comment, buy itself a plane ticket out there and eat your face off. But ya never know...
