If you're going to remove oxidation or anodizing, I suggest you try some good ole "Easy Off" oven cleaner. It works quite well, especially if the metal is warm. I sat mine in the sun for an hour, spayed it on, waited ten minutes and sponged/hosed it off. It will save a lot of time.
