I was given a break by a CHIP who gave me a ticket for speeding and reduced the speed from 1xxmph (significantly over 100) to 90 mph, after he pulled me out of my car by my necktie and lectured me for 10-12 minutes on the side of the 101 between Ojai and Santa Barbara I was 19. It turned out he was right behind me for about half a mile with his siren going but I couldn’t hear it because I was in a convertible! I remember hearing a faint buzzing sound which I thought was my fuel pump but then I looked away from the road and my gauges to glance at my rear view to see a CHP CAR and the expression the officers face which looked like he was pissed. I have never gotten a speed ticket again after that..
I still fear posting the actual speed.
