there is another brand of quick release wheel adapter that is not as deep as the srp one. i have the same set up as you and with short legs was feeling it was going to be a problem. i did get used to it after a spell and it's common place for me now. if you wanted i would do a search in the racing-AX forum for it. there have been discussions there about the other unit and a lead on where to get them could be had too. i think they are from canada
