Certainly longer that it's going to take for you or a local mechanic to change the belts NOW!!!!
A new over tightened belt is certainly going to last longer than one two to three years old going on 30,000 miles that's most likely in your car.
Quit avoiding the issue.
Change the belts NOW!!!
