well if yer gonna race it i would paint it and ya have easy repairs.


if yer gonna set it in yer lil museum and jerk off onto it i would powdercoat. powdercoat is a giant PITA to repair when wasted.



either way if yer gonna ride the damn thing which in actuality is WHY THE HELL YA BOUGHT THE DAMN THANG IN THE FIRST PLACE...............i would use 3M clear bra adhesive on any areas that will get hit by rocks or scuffed by boots or yer knees.


because after spending the amount of time and beer on these thangs it will KILL YOU as much as getting a herky assed rock divot in yer new freshly painted porschen hood.


these really do turn into labors of love. or hate as i can attest to back in 2001 when i walked away in TOTAL DISGUST from that freeking penton when we found way more bad stuff wrong and spendy than i cared to tackle at the time.


it took a heap of money time sweat equity beers and balls to tackle it again.



trust me a sharpie and zip lock bags will become yer friend on these restos.

if anyjuan interested in a 1972 ROLLER PENTON JACKPINER 175 with chrome rims(1972 only) black KTM EVIL MOTOR about 93% all there does not run, i dont know of internal engine condition, that i paid $1100 bucks for back in 2000, i will sell it for same $1100 bucks or i can be inticed to LOWER my price by COLD CORONAS AND LIMES! short production numbers, faster than hell(would belly up with 250's), parts available thru penton owners group and pentonparts.com. these are very easy to street legal and terrorize yer neighbors and fellow campground campers! LOL! UNREAL WOODS/DEZERT WEAPON!



seriously thou..................any of the big 5 honda/kawi/suz/yam/ktm(penton) restos are fairly fun to do. any other mfg of dirty bike excluding husqvarna....................seriously consider HARI KARI before doing them unless in a extremely good running condition.
