Being a dirty foreigner, I've never seen a ground hog. Are they a bit smaller than a rabbit? Here in NZ we have rabbits and hares. |
Varmint loads in .223 go all the way down to 40 grains.
The weight depends on the range. A 40gr bullet probably isnt a good choice for 500meter shooting, where the longer heavier bullets would excel.
