Bill, most of my shots are 100 to 300 yards. The .17 HMR is only a 17 grain bullet but it travels REALLY fast and flat. Kinda like a laser beam out to about 150 yards. Further than that I use the .22-250 same nice flat round but a lot more distance. The .25 -06 is another really fast flat round. Basically a 30-06 necked down to a .25. It flies way too far to use around here on ground hogs.. But I use it at the range. A ground hog is a big ground squirrel I have shot them up to around 25 lbs.
