You know how when you get pulled for speeding, they usually write you up for a lower speed if your attitude is respectful?
Here's a conversation I've imagined... I guess one would have to be drunk or stupid or both to say it, though:
Officer: Even though I clocked you at 72 mph in a 55 mph zone, I'm only gonna write this ticket for 64 mph... that way you will be less than 10 over.
Offender: If you had clocked me at 64, would you have pulled me over?
Officer: Probably not.
Offender: Well, let's just tear that thing up... whaddaya say? You're givin' me the 64.
