Here is an easy way to polish the lip of the wheels.
Put the rear of the car on jack stands,
start the engine,
put the car in gear,
rear wheel turns,
you hold the steel wool or rag with the polish on it against the lip.
The car does the work.
You can drink a beer with the other hand.
