I agree with Rob Capt. Carrera. The inlet on the top works good because the bends are easier to make. When you put the inlet on the bottom, it's a compound/multi-direction bend (inward and upward) when you turn to enter the cat. convertor/cat bypass/premuffler/whatever your car has. I have a bottom inlet 1-in 1-out Dynomax and my Meineke shop owner friend had a bear of a time making that bend. Muffler hangs crooked and doesn't seal too well at the premuffler flange (blows out gaskets).
