So after more than 2K the car still gets very hot in city driving and the needle never goes down below the most highest (10 o'clock marker). This is kind of frustrating because he now wants me to replace the thermostat housing and the hoses that go along with the new housing, he hasn't giving me a price but knowing him he will probably ask me for another 700 or 1K dollars. I had to fight him to replace the thermostat for a lower fee since it was part of the initial issue that he still hasn't fixed. I don't like confrontation but I think I should have to pay any more money for labor since his first quote stated that it was going to be fixed. With both times back to the shop it has cost me about 2.5K and the problem still persist. Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you comfortable with a digital meter and do you have one? It will save you lots of mulah if you do. $2.5k could have gone to some good upgrades if you can do some simple tests.

This is a similar issue you can read.
