joe yer spot on w/soon to be wifey and dirty bikes. her outlook on dirty bikes is WTF??????????????????/ WHY?
and i keep explaining their worth a LOT OF MONEY! but as we all know..............they aint worth SPIT if they dont run. and therefore you go roundy roundy down the wicked steps of hell to get them up and running. butttttttttt...........
as with anythang ya work yer ass off on, they soon get TOO PURDY to go ride cuz ya dont wanna chip paint/powdercoat/break any of the UNOBTANIUM parts and of course avoid the MAYO TRIAGE CENTER at all costs when ya face plant yer overage ass into:
1) a cow
2) a bull
3) a java-leaner
4) anything oncoming(quad/truck/buggy etc)
5) barbed wire
6) an arroyo(wash)
7) immoveable parts connected to the core/mantel of the earth(ROCKS).
now another interesting LEGALITY facing me is i have some "runner" bikes that i dont care for as much as the others. ie. its not gonna kill me to crash them.
butttt..............with the az state legislatures infinite wiz-dumb............all OHV(off highway vehicles) must now be LICENSED and REGISTERED anywhere in the state. and with the number that i own, well that just aint happening due to costs and how much if at all i ride them.
now with this new law and the hiring of (5) new az game and fish ossifers specifically for this and BLM hiring a whole slew of OHV specific cops...................it is a GIVEN, as the sun comes up in the east that YOU or I will be pulled over AUTOMATICALLY on yer OHV upon observance by the LAW.
and ya better have:
1) a USFS approved spark arrestor
2) an OHV plate
3) an OHV registration
or its gonna be yer ASS BIG TIME!
now yer alternative...............is to DITCH THEM!
at my age they would make an example and with my luck the HELO crew would be in the general area and they would bust me royally. actually the last time we went out riding and we were pulled over, the cop even asked me "arent you kind of old for doing this?"
so yeah........i have a conundrum of which bike to plate and register. now if ya dont have a legal bill of sale when ya bought the damn thing, yer really in it for the roundy roundy at azmvd when ya try and register them.
the upside is LOTS of stolen OHV's have surfaced and they have been confiscated and if possible returned to their owners(where the hells my stolen yamaha IT-175?????). if ya dont have a bill of sale ya need to get one from the original owner. or they run VIN number and if its clear they re-issue a new registration for something like a $150 bucks or so. yeah real fun for some.
