A machine that vibrates and carries on like this cannot be well made or efficient no matter what the end result is. I couldn't stand it and bought a $600 Bosch last week. The difference is amazing. The Kenmore seemed to be fighting itself and it set the whole house on edge. There is a sense of harmony when the Bosch is running. There is something soothing and ... right about a well designed machine. You can just sense it.

Which Kenmore. They just rebrand a GE or Whirlpool or Maytag, usually not the high end units.
My GE Profile Triton is excellent and quiet. They did a lot of work in the late 90's to minimize the water that would hit the walls and door. Keeps the noise level down and put more water on the dishes.
Worst I've ever owned was a Hotpoint (GE) that tried to burn the house down.
