I use Michelin Pro 2 Race (now called the Pro 3 Race) almost exclusively. I've experienced WAY fewer flats than w/ other brands and they're practically the de facto standard amongst road cyclists.
They're $61 from Performancebike, but they're $39 from Probikekit in 700x23, food for thought.

But like HardDrive said, those Armadillos are super tough, made just for your intended purpose, urban commuting.
