I think you bring up a good point RC in that BMW has not had to win anything to pre sell hundreds if not thousands of these over the world. Forget about getting one here in OZ until the second wave in July
Win Sunday, sell Monday isn't always the way it has to be, if you've got gizmology on your side...and the Roundel probably helps.
Sure long term things will be different but as long as they stay strong and improve in the standings...hell, it probably won't matter to sales initially if this year is no better than last as so many people are jumping on regardless of the WSB standings.
As Owen said not everyone buys the bike that comes in #1 and well, until the others can step up with the electronics - BMW imho is in for strong retail sales at least till this time next year. This years WSB season will be more than half over before some even pick their bikes up.
