I should have specified... If he keeps the system in place but installs a converter/interpreter for MAP, he will not see a significant difference in hp.

Removing it all and going with a PEFI system and ITBs is what opens the doorway to beyond and better than the stock motronic system and parts in place. Replacing half the equipment and a "bandaid" will not achieve the results he is looking for.

Unless this is a race car, I'd recommend sticking with the Motronic and the Varioram as these things work very very well with lots of room for software improvements. Further, this runs well with any kind of gasolines, especially in hot weather.
