Running @ the nine o'clock position would indicate a normal operating temperature.

For long term engine preservation, the optimum operating oil temp
is between 180-210.

Let's see what happens in the 100F ambient temperature range.

You may need the 87-89 3.2 radiator/fan type cooler with a 200F fan thermostat.
