The Delaware State Parks allow you to drive onto the beach with a valid surf fishing permit and a 4X4. We have almost 20 miles of beach. You must be actively fishing if parked. Some guys get real crazy with gear that's not all that neccessary. It's a great way to spend the day, pack everybody up in the 4X4, beach chairs, beverages etc. and hit the road. After you've got your gear the biggest expense usually turns out to be bait or beverages.
