At first C2it.com seems like a good idea to pay for auctions etc.
I just found out that if you use C2it to pay for something
using your credit card, it goes through as a
CASH ADVANCE
I got charged a cash advance fee of $5.00 plus
finance charges for a $8.00 auction payment!!
This really angered me because I don't revolve my
account and now I have to pay a fee and finance charge!!
I talked to C2it.com customer service and they stated
that whenever you use C2it to pay for an auction linking
it with your credit card, the merchant code that applies
to that transaction is 4829 which is described as
"Wire transfer or money order" which most visa/mastercard
companies will list as a cash advance
with the exception of
Citibank because they own C2it.com
And the reason I don't link to a bank account is because
a charge is more easily disputed through visa/mastercard
than your bank institution.
Just thought to share my disappointment just in case there
are others who are not aware of Citibank's policy.
