thanks all for the kudos. these are every bit as insane as a car/truck restoration. the amount of time spent surfing the web, calling people AROUND THE WORLD, for parts will kill yer eyeballs, and make you old. yes believe it or not the italians mfg. many dirt bike parts. the raedale rims for example(chrome ones on jackpiner), and a host of other OEM and reproduction parts.

next we are going to revive (3) huskies-1982 250XC and 250WR and a 1983 500XC, that were totally restored crank/frame up, broken in with maybe 50 miles on each of them. i walked away from them in 2001 for other projects and they havent been touched nor started. just left on stands covered.

so we will have fun cleaning carbs, new air filters, lube chains and generally going thru them getting ready to fire up. its something to do, my kid when hes down from NAU is my lab rat crash test dummy when i get them fired up, and buzzes them around to get them to temp and tells me about anything that needs my attention.

you can get into a LOT OF $ on these if ya dont buy them right. my greatest suggestion is to buy any flavor bike as long as IT RUNS. it dont have to look pretty. cosmetic parts fenders side covers are mere flesh wounds to find. motor parts are a giant PITA sometimes to find.

easiest most prevalent parts -not in any order:

honda
bultaco
husqvarna
all other jap bikes
montessa/ossa
atk
triumph/bsa
cz/jawa
maico

if ya have a hankering for a CAN AM............................have fun finding parts.
