Take an hour and visit the Mission Inn in downtown Riverside. Great restaurant if you have the time. The local mountains (45 min), i.e., Big Bear and Arrowhead are a nice drive. A little quaint and a little touristy in places, but fun. Good food up there as well. More than one hofbrau if you like German beer and food. Definately do the Mission Inn. You won't regret it.
