You mentioned rebuilding the gearbox...that's not a weak point in these cars at all, at least for the 95-97 cars. They used the GM 4L80E (it's a TH400....same as in corvettes, hummers, and even the Ferrari 400i)

The later V8 R's use the 4L80E too? That is a nice transmission!
